What is the most exciting project you have worked on at Capgemini Consulting?

Right after joining Capgemini Consulting I worked on a project with the goal to make our client, a player in the public transport industry, ready to compete in the upcoming years. This required the transformation of multiple aspects within the organization going from resource planning up to marketing. I contributed to the development of new internal sales processes and marketing materials backed up with in depth competitive intelligence. This gave me the opportunity to coordinate and align with the CSO directly. And because many decisions affected the roles and responsibilities of the sales representatives it also involved right communication and change management.
 

In what way do you feel you have contributed to the industries in which you have worked?

Capgemini Consulting works with leading companies in many different industries. By working on projects and sharing experiences with colleagues, a consultant has the privilege to know what the latest trends are in the different industries, and, even more, to help clients to stay ahead. This position in the economy is really exciting. As an associate consultant I contribute to this process by thinking out of the box, coming up with new ideas and underpinning everything with data and insights.
 

Through your career at Capgemini Consulting what skills, experiences and primary areas of expertise have you developed?

I develop myself within Capgemini Consulting on two axes. First of all, I learn to structure, see opportunities, analyze, work proactively, etc.. These are the fundamental skills needed on every project. Secondly, I develop myself within the functional domain Marketing, Sales and Service. Taking the customer perspective and identifying how our client can improve the customer experience is what I do. And of course, digital makes it even more interesting!
 

Apart from client projects, in what other ways have you contributed internally to develop Capgemini Consulting? How has this benefitted you?

A junior profile in our business does not automatically imply a small impact. On the contrary, on top of the exciting projects, juniors are expected to commit fully to further develop Capgemini Consulting in Belgium. This involves a variety of responsibilities ranging from actively participating in business development to real internal projects. The associate consultants in Belgium conduct an internal project directly for our senior management. So juniors really have impact.
 

Why did you join Capgemini Consulting ? From a personal standpoint, what makes Capgemini Consulting unique?

There are two main reasons why I joined Capgemini Consulting. First of all, we work together with the clients and adapt ourselves to the client’s environment in order to maximize results. It is what we call the Collaborative Business Experience. In fact, we make the best out of two worlds: having a strong connection with the local culture and working in a global consulting firm. So we share knowledge and expertise internationally and have the opportunity to work abroad. Secondly, I was attracted by the Capgemini University. After joining, I realized that our University is only a part of the global training curriculum. The development of human capital is crucial.
 

What do you do in your spare time ?

Management consulting is a time-consuming activity, but taking time for personal activities is encouraged. Capgemini Consulting feels very strongly about its employees having a healthy work-life balance.  So I have time left to go horseback riding three times a week and to have fun on the weekend with my university friends.
