Emma Storbacka

Consultant, Strategy and Transformation, Finland

“As an employer, Capgemini Consulting has the benefits of a large organization and the spirit of a local player.”

What is the most exciting project you have worked on at Capgemini Consulting?

So far my most exciting project was a digital strategy pre-study for one of our clients. They needed to sort out how to better interact with their customers, and they had identified social media channels as a great way to achieve that goal in all of their functions (and not just marketing). We helped them by designing interviews, conducting workshops, and creating the final deliverable on which they will now base their decisions.

In what way do you feel you have contributed to the industries in which you have worked?

In the projects I have been involved in, our approach has brought structure to the clients' thinking and helped them identify new opportunities for development. Collaborating with clients has really made a difference, as they have felt that they are making real progress with our help.

Through your career at Capgemini Consulting what skills, experiences and primary areas of expertise have you gained?

My primary areas of expertise are related to all things digital. I am really excited about the Digital Transformation focus that the company is driving at the moment. For me this means using new channels, such as social media, to create more meaningful customer experiences and journeys. I am also very interested in multi-channel management.

Apart from client projects, in what other ways have you contributed internally to develop Capgemini Consulting? How has this benefitted you?

I have been involved in creating two “Points of view”: the first one on the future of IPTV in the Finnish market, and the other one on creating a business for Social Media usage. In these internal projects, I have been able to research topics that interest me and to develop my knowledge and skills. And then of course, I have been involved in organizing fun events and activities for my colleagues here at the office!

Why did you join Capgemini Consulting? From your personal standpoint, what makes Capgemini Consulting unique?

I joined Capgemini because I wanted to join a consultancy that I felt would accommodate my values (like fun, boldness, and honesty), something that Capgemini Consulting definitely does. In my opinion, as an employer, Capgemini Consulting has the benefits of a large organization and the spirit of a local player.

What do you do in your spare time?

In my spare time I really enjoy running. I recently participated in a half-marathon sponsored by Capgemini. That was really great! I am also a scout, and I enjoy spending time with friends and family.
